Event DetailsHow to participate in the DES/Ohio USSSA Buckeye (MVP) Games:
After each DES/Ohio USSSA event, coaches will be texted/e-mailed a form to fill out to nominate players. The coach will nominate one player from the opposing team per game played. There will also be some at-large player invitations.
All players who have been selected as a DES Game MVP will immediately be eligible to enter into the DES Buckeye (MVP) Games (there are no refunds after registering due to jerseys being personalized).
After registering, the player will receive a confirmation email as well as their player profile being added to the DES Buckeye (MVP) Games website.
DES Buckeye (MVP) Game Events:
The DES Buckeye (MVP) Games are a competitive event. Players from all surrounding States that have played in an Ohio USSSA/Tri-State USSSA event are eligible to play. This event is meant to be competitive, and a winning team will be crowned at the end.
All teams will play a minimum of 4 games. Format of event is dependent on the number of players per age group.
During the day on Saturday, there will also be an MVP Player Social. All players and coaches will be invited to join in the social at the ballpark they are playing at. This will be a great time to meet and interact with the other MVP Players.
Saturday:
7:30-9:00 AM
Player check-in.
Meet with coach and team.
Pick up jerseys, DES cap, DES duffle bag, bag tags, and ring.
Player pictures.
9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Team practice.
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Team social for players and coaches.
12:30 PM
Pool play (round robin) games begin.
Sunday
8:00 AM:
Pool play (round robin) games continue.
2:00 PM or 4:00 PM:
Championship Games.
Team and Coach Selection:
Players:
Players who have been selected as a DES/USSSA Game MVP at an Ohio USSSA/Tri-State USSSA event may participate in the DES Buckeye (MVP) Games.
Coaches:
The head coaches will be selected from those who wish to volunteer. The selection of the head coaches will be based on:

The highest classification of the team the volunteer coached.

The highest USSSA Power Ranking of the team the volunteer coached.
If a coach that is selected has a daughter participating in the DES Buckeye (MVP) Games, that player will automatically be placed on the same team.
Drafting Of Teams:
The process of selection of players will be done via ranking forms and will be done in total confidentiality. Only DES Staff will view the ranking of players by the coaches.
During the registration process, all players will submit playing positions and draft notes.
The participating players will be drafted into teams by the coaches.
Coaches will receive the roster of all participating players with playing positions and draft notes. Coaches will be asked to rank each player by position.
DES Staff will form the teams from the coaches ranking of player’s form. Catchers will be placed on teams first, followed by pitchers, followed by infield and then outfield.
Official team rosters will be available on this website when the drafting process is complete.
