EVENT DETAILS

This event is our 3rd annual Strawberry Festival event. Traditionally, there are Friday evening games as this is the first of our “Summer” events. Whenever possible, we try to schedule as many teams closer to the venue in those Friday games and typically for 2 games Fri evening when possible, then a later Sat afternoon game unless an early Sat game is requested.

Format: All divisions will feature 3 Friday/Saturday pool seeding games into Sunday single-elim bracket play. There could be some cross-over pool games or one large pool if numbers dictate. These guarantees are always weather permitting.

Awards: Top 2 teams in each division will pick up individual Strawberry Festival medals with team awards. Awards will consist of 12 champion and 12 finalist dog tag medals. If we have more than 12 teams in an age division, we will add 3rd place team and individual awards as well. Team awards may be a plaque or team banner.

Merchandise: There will be a merchandise pre-order for the event consisting of t-shirts, dry-fits, long sleeve t-shirts, and hoodies. There may be a few items onsite for sale as well consisting of tournament merchandise and other items. After the event, teams will have the option to purchase customized champions merchandise from UTP.

Additional Info: This event is also a USSSA National Championship qualifier for the top two finishing teams with an unpaid berth to a USSSA National Championship of their choice. Points Race Info: This event earns team points in our Points Race-for-the-Rings program. This program is a state, regional, and national program that uses the USSSA point system to determine the winners of these custom rings. This is a new program for Ohio USSSA at the state level but a team from Ohio did win the Regional and National rankings in 2022. Ohio All-State Showcase: Teams also get to nominate players for our new All-State Showcase August 5, 2023 in Marion, OH. The top 3 teams in each division get 3 player nominations and the remaining finishing teams get 1 player nomination.
